Adele may be riding high with the fastest-selling album of the year so far, but blockbuster family films are set to dominate Christmas stockings on December 25, according to a survey of consumers commissioned by the Entertainment Retailers Association (ERA).

In the survey of 2,224 members of the public polled by independent research company Fly Research, respondents were presented with a list of 20 of the most hotly-tipped entertainment products this Christmas.

When the votes came in, Adele's 25was by far the winner with 11.4% of respondents saying it was the title they were most likely to buy for themselves or as a gift this Christmas, ahead of theMinionsvideo on 10.3%.

Six of the Top 10 titles overall were accounted for by videos withMinionsfollowed byJurassic World(6.4%).

The biggest selling entertainment product of the year so far is FIFA 16 at 2.1m units, and in this latest consumer poll, games took the next three positions, withCall of Duty: Black Ops IIIfollowed byStar Wars BattlefrontandFIFA 16.

The remaining four titles were all videos.

The strength of Minions is indicated by the fact that it was the Number One title for Males, the Under-25s, 25-34s, 35-44s and 45-54s. Although Adele's 25 was the overall winner, it dominated only two demographics - Females and the Over 55s. Research undertaken by Fly Research November 2015. Total number of respondents 2,244

ERA CEO Kim Bayley said, "While Adele has taken all the headlines recently with the huge success of25, these poll results are a clear reminder of the strength of video - particularly on family occasions. With little more than a week to go to Christmas, it is clear thatMinionsandJurassic Worldare going to be givingAdelea run for her money in the sales rankings."

British Video Association (BVA), CEO, Liz Bales commented "It's great to see that video is once again at the top of consumers gift lists, with a title selection that covers everything fromMinionsto dinosaurs, it's easy to see why video makes a great stocking filler for the whole family and with gifting accounting for a third of all video sales it's a gift that keeps driving people into store."
