Entertainment retailers curate your ultimate family gift list

Around 50m albums, videos and games to be gifted this Christmas

Confused, undecided or just plain clueless what to buy your family for Christmas this year? Worry no more because Britain's entertainment retailers have curated the ultimate festive gift list.

Shops are expecting to sell around 50m entertainment gifts this quarter, suggesting that most households will unwrap at least one album, video or video game on Christmas day.

So if you're still in need of gifting inspiration, the Entertainment Retailers Association (ERA) has surveyed its members, representing more than 7,000 physical and digital entertainment outlets, for a list of gifts guaranteed to put a smile on the faces of all your family on December 25.

Among retail's top tips for mum is of course Adele's25whereas Dad can take pride in dusting off the turntable for the Beatles classic box set1.Fallout 4is set to be a big video-gaming winner among teenage boys whilst the girls fall in love withMinionson DVD.

Independent record shops are also predicting Courtney Barnett's special edition ofSometimeson double yellow LP to be a Christmas hit among vinyl fans, as well as stunning heritage vinyl box sets from Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen for those music-loving uncles and grandads.

ERA CEO Kim Bayley, said "With such a fantastic line up of music, video and games in the final quarter of the year it really is no wonder that entertainment retains its crown as the most universal Christmas gift. Our family gift list goes to show that there really is something for everyone this year".
